I tried the whole 'controversial post' thing once. I got no comments. Will go away and be sad about the lack of people commenting on *my* blog now... :P And yes, the whole conception through birth thing took approximately 10 minutes, or however long it takes to set up a blog

You're disgusted, Steve?! I'm disgusted with you, vile jelly. According to Ezekial 2v3, AJ is completely unbiblical in his assmptions and as his brothers in the faith we should be showing him that he is grossly out of order.
As for you, Jared, what you need is a good telling off by my grandmother. I can't believe you would think such a flawed argument is worthy of publishment. Shame on you.
Dave, you should just give your dad a whole new birth date. Maybe even a new one every year and that way you can remember his birthday whenever is convinient for you.

I disagree Ruth. Dave's dad's birthday should be a very important occassion, just like my friends uncles dogs cousin first removed whose birthday is being celebrated by many people today!
I think you have misread Ezekial 2v3 Shell.

Israel’s rebellion was clearly a metaphorical rebellion and not some over-spiritual rebellion on some ethereal plane. Read between the lines eh?

Steve-a-Saurus. Just because you re-iterate your point twice does not mean that it is any more justified! I happened to read a book about a guy who said that he flatted with someone who said he once met Guru Swami Pohutukawa, and you sir, have taken that quote directly out of context! Ot of context I say!
In fact - if you look at the original greek in the book of Guru Swami, you will see that the word he uses for 'orange' is in fact 'portokali'. Therefore you are wrong, and if you don't agree that the scriptures are the inspired word of God and are free from error, then there is no point discussing this further. Besides many people are not comfortable with the Greek translation (I for one)i believe they ancient Yiddish is much more accurate to the Ghuru's real meaning.
Steve - I must say I am shocked and affronted at your lack of faith in the book of Swam. If you can't accept it as utter infallible concrete truth, then how can you trust any of what it says? How can you trust anything at all?!?
I would disagree with your postulation that the ancient Yiddish is the better translation, given it was originally written in Latin, which has much more similarities to Greek.
The Yiddish word used for 'orange' is 'marants' - (מאַראַנץ) WHICH IN FACT IS MORE OF A RED-ORANGE!!!! Last I checked, oranges aren't red. Thus the Yiddish translation is crap and cannot be considered infallible unlike the Kompletely Justified Version of the book of Swam.
In contrast, the Greek word 'portokali' (πορτοκάλι) is used to describe BOTH red-orange AND orange things. Therefore the Greek is infallible and the Yiddish is not.
well I think you're both wrong. The Guru *may he live forever* wrote all his philosophical writings in French. Look up Isaiah 32v3 and that is all the proof for oranges being like the earth that you need ever know.

Steve: I'd just like to state my horror at your suggestion that the revered Book of Swami is not inedible. In my experience, it is not remotely not inedible. Trust me, I've tried it, and it didn't go down at all well, even when I tried taking it with a glass of water, or seasoning it with tobasco sauce.
In declaring my position thus, I do not necessarily wish to be interpreted as either supporting or opposing your other, somewhat contentious views. But I just felt it my responsibility to inform you of your error in the above matter.
The maori translation is the correct one! The maori word for orange is arani. This week is maori language week (te wiki o te reo maori).
Don't you people have anything better to do?
